I am now offering custom portraits, such as pets, wedding photos. Price varies by subject and size. I can also provide work in progress pictures by text or message. It is truly a stunning process.

Nikkisknotts.com is a small Mom and Pop handmade woodworking business. We specialize in pyrography, also known as wood burned art. We also do lathe work, turning, including bowls and pens. Pens are refillable, and feel amazing to write with. We also make handmade turned mechanical wood pencils. Everything we make is unique and one of a kind. We also love to do custom work, please feel free to reach out to us in regards to what you would like to have made. We can hand burn your ideas. We can burn names, tattoos, funny sayings, your favorite animal, cartoon characters, family crests, wedding plaques, baby’s name and birthday with time of birth, silhouette images pretty much anything you can think of.
Custom Work
We can take almost any drawing or idea and turn it to a beautiful piece of Pyrography wood burning Art. We can also recreate anything we’ve done before although it won’t be exactly the same. Please contact us if you are interested. Contact information available at bottom of page. Custom work takes 6-10 weeks.
We can also burn for you on wood you have or wish to provide or any other wood materials.
We now offer two types of finish for your work. First is our normal gloss urethane. Which takes 30 days to finish curing. Our second finish is Odie’s Oil. This finish is food safe and is finished curing in 10 days.
Wood Burning
The main thing that sets Nikkisknotts.com apart is our wood burning. I now burn with a Razertip Wood Burner. The upgrade from my first fixed tip to the red box knock off to the Razertip is amazing. We prep our wood for burning. Including cutting to size, edge treatment and hand sanding to 1000 grit before burning. After the piece is sanded it gets mapped out with its image in pencil, then it is burned in by hand. After burning it is then sanded to 1500 grit sandpaper. Then is finished with a gloss urethane. Finishing itself is a process too, taking 4-5 days and then must go to quarantine for 30 days to finish curing. Then a sawtooth hanger is added to the back to complete the piece.
Our normal wood we use is New Zealand pine. However we can also burn on any type of wood that you have. We can burn most anything that you could want as custom work. Please reach out and get your idea burned in wood!
Bowls
Hand turned Wood Bowls. Finished with friction polish. Great catch-alls perfect for: keys, change, polished rocks, and all your favorite treasures. Also food safe now!! Hand wash with soapy cloth and dry right away.
Wood Pens
Hand turned, Wood Pens. Finished with friction polish. They are amazing to write with. They are Refillable and Unique One of A Kind Pens. At this time we have twist and click pens. The twist is a standard ball point. The click pens have a finer tip.

Mechanical Wood Pencils
Hand Turned Wood Mechanical Pencils. Finished with friction polish.A joy to write with. They use 0.7mm lead. They are completely Unique and One of a kind Mechanical Wood Pencils.
Polished Rocks and Crystals
We tumble our own rocks and crystals. Currently in stock with Amethyst, Rose Quartz, Iron Quartz, Fire Quartz, Mexican Lace Agate, Mexican Flower Agate, Fancy Jasper, Porcelain Jasper, Raw New York State Flint, Desert Jasper, Mexico Rose Chalcedony, Zebra Jasper, Rubellite Mookite, and Banded Amethyst. New Rocks are always being added. These take time to tumble, a really really long time to tumble but are always worth waiting for.
